Help me name my car.

So my wife likes to name all our cars and I'm not a fan of her suggestions so far for our E39 M5 .... Eduardo. No idea how she got to that (or any of our car names), but I don't like it and need some suggestions. I'd say an M5 needs a guy's name. What do you got Oppo?

Here's the rest of the family...

Burt - 1998 Chevy K1500

Gertrude (Gerty) - 2003 BMW E46 Touring (oddly, can't find a photo, but it's like this one)

Petra - 1986 Porsche 944

and James, who was recently replaced by the E39

Not the first to suggest a German first name. Obvious and a bit predictable, yes, but it seems appropriate.

Some funny sounding ones are Gerd, Guntbert, Erkenbald.

Some erious ones are Falco, Conrad, Eugen, Fabian, Harald.

You could also play off the car's color. BMW has so many shades of blue, I've never been able to remember their names, other than the famous ones like Estoril Blue. So say it is Estoril Blue, you could call it "Estor" or something. What's the factory color you have?

P.S. Congrats on your excellent purchase. Personally, I'd want one or the other, a 944 or an M5, but not both - one demanding mistress is enough, but two? Also be the problem of what to drive. I'd sit in the driveway with both keys in my hands going "Hmm...."

Manfred. It means Man of Peace. That blue color certainly evokes peace... Until you step on the gas and all hell breaks loose.

944 is about to be up for sale. Probably to be replaced with a C5 Z06. After having 400hp for my DD, a 150hp race car isn't cutting it.

The E39 is the only 5er that I don't like when in non-M or non-M Sport Trim

But it looks soooooo damn good in the more aggressive setup. The real deal M5 somehow pulled off the impossible. It's both understated and aggressive at the same time, AND it ages well. It's one of the bimmers that looks better with time. Unlike the E63 M6 which I thought looked awesome when it was new but now looks weird to my eye.

I've never named my cars (except, I guess, my current E90, which is often referred to as "the Monster"), but my vote is for Klaus, or Jörg. Those seem like E39 names.
